FAQs

How does the software on this site, compressimage.org work?

The software that you are about to use (if you haven’t already) on compressimage.org is refreshingly simple and user-friendly. If you are not entirely confident about it, we will take you through it step by step so that you are absolutely sure how it works.

Start off by being on the home page, www.compressimage.org. Under the heading of Compress Image, there is a box for you to add your images that you wish to be compressed. You have the choice of dragging and dropping them there, or by clicking on Upload and browsing through your computer to find them.

Once they have been uploaded, the compression starts automatically. It is all taken care of right before your eyes, as you relax and watch the process. The image compression takes less than a minute, and displays the initial image size as well as the new image size.

If you have several images that need to be compressed, this is made easy for you. You can upload a maximum of 20 images at once, as long as they fall under 5mb each.

The compressed images will be displayed in a list and it will show as each image is edited. You have the option to download them all at once, or to do so individually. Furthermore, you can select whether you wish to save them on your device or on your Dropbox account, for your ease of access. It’s that easy.

Once your image has been downloaded, save it appropriately so that it is easy for you to keep track of which ones have been compressed and which ones are the originals. Since the compressed image quality is so good, you will not be able to tell the difference yourself without manually checking the properties of the image to give you its size.
